Текст песни

Well, it's a-Rock, a-Rock, a-Rock Billy Boogie.
A-Rock'n', Rock'n, a-Rock Billy Boogie.
A-Rock, a-Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie.
A-Rock, a-Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie.
A-Rock, Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie tonight.

Well, I know a little spot on the edge of town,
Where you can really pick 'em up and set 'em down.
It's a little place called The Hideaway,
You do the Rock a-Billy to the break of day.

Well, it's a-Rock, a-Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie.
A-Rock, Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie.
A-Rock, Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie tonight.

Instrumental break with vocalizations.

Well, they kick off their shoes gettin' ready to bop.
They're gonna Rock a-Billy a-wearin' their socks.
You really heave, you feel that thrill.,
So come on little baby, do the Rock a-Billy Bill.

Oh, Rock, a-Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie.
A-Rock, Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie.
A-Rock, a-Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie tonight.

Instrumental break with vocalizations.

Well, there's li'l ol' Suzie, turnin' seventeen,
But everybody knows her as a Rock a-Billy queen.
A-there's ol' slim, as quiet as a mouse,
He grabs ol' Suzie he'll tear the house.

Well, it's a-Rock, a-Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie.
A-Rock, Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie.
A-Rock, Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie tonight.

Instrumental break with vocalizations.

Well, it's a-Rock, a-Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie.
A-Rock, Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie.
A-Rock, Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie.
A-Rock, Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie.
A-Rock, Rock, a-Rock a-Billy Boogie tonight.

1Often the title of this song is mistaken as, "Rockabilly Boogie."
The correct title is, "Rock Billy Boogie," but when Burnette sings
the words, he adds his famous "ah," sound to the front of the word.
"Billy," thus creating the confusion. Propagating the confusion is
the cover of the Bear Family's compilation, released in 1989, titled,
"Rockbilly Boogie." There's no "a," betweem "Rock" and "billy," but
there's no space or capital "B" either. The song list for this album
also reads, "Rockbilly Boogie." sigh!

Cats, et al.
